TikTok Shop's September policy round-up for US sellers launched a new enforcement framework to improve product quality, and flagged products may lose visibility. It also tightened the rules on AI-generated listing images: "Listing images should accurately represent the real product buyers will receive." No misleading 3D effects, no exaggerated sizes, no visuals that don't match the item.
TikTok also stretched its listing accuracy rules to more categories, with its guides naming 3C products (tech and electronics), products containing batteries, and beauty and personal care. And for returns sent to Fulfilled by TikTok warehouses, TikTok Shop now runs the process and decides who pays.
Straight up: if your AI product shots look better than the product, TikTok will now bury them. The shop that wins is the one where the listing, the creator video and the parcel all match.
These rules apply to US sellers. If you sell in the UK, treat them as an early warning and tidy up now.
