Our take

Omnisend added a setting (Settings, Sales attribution, Tracking) that lets brands choose whether Apple Mail Privacy Protection opens count as engagement when it attributes orders and sales. Apple Mail can load emails automatically, which records an "open" even if nobody read it. When you exclude those opens, Omnisend recalculates attributed sales back to 3 April 2021, so order counts and revenue figures may change.

Apple's privacy feature has inflated open-based attribution for years. If your email revenue includes orders tied to opens nobody made, your email number is flattering you.

This is bad news for the dashboard and good news for decisions. A smaller, honest number tells you which flows really earn their place.

Do it now, not in the middle of BFCM reporting, so your before and after comparisons stay clean.
