Our take

Google emailed some advertisers to say that, from 12 October 2026, it will find promotions such as coupons and deals on their websites and add them to their ads. It only applies to Search and Performance Max campaigns that have linked location assets and no promotion assets already attached. Google opts you in automatically.

If you sell from physical shops as well as online, this lands on you. The risk is simple: Google picks the offer, not you. An old banner code, a staff discount page or a clearance deal you never meant to push can end up in front of new shoppers, and that teaches them to wait for a discount.

We'd rather control the offer. Your B.R.A.I.N.™ already sets out how your brand talks about price and when you discount, so the promotion in your ads should come from that plan, not from whatever Google finds on a page.
