Our take

Apple changed how Mail works in iOS 27. Search now uses a new ranking system that puts "the most relevant results to the top", instead of leaning on what arrived last. Suggestions at the top of messages now work with third-party apps, such as tracking a shipment in Wallet or adding a Calendar event.

Mail also gets Ask Siri buttons. 9to5Mac points to one user who asked Siri to delete all the spam from a particular sender, and it worked.

For brands, recency no longer guarantees attention. When a customer searches their inbox, Mail decides which of your emails matters. Clear, useful emails rise. Vague ones sink. And if a customer thinks of you as spam, clearing out every email you've ever sent now takes one sentence.

Your order and shipping emails become more valuable here. Make them clear and readable, and Mail can turn them into one-tap actions.
