Google's September update for Demand Gen (its campaign type for YouTube, Gmail and Discover) brings one-tap image ads to YouTube Shorts. Upload a 9:16 full-bleed image and viewers reach your landing page in a single tap.
Google also launched Business Agent for YouTube Ads. When a video ad includes your product feed, viewers can ask an AI about your products or brand without leaving the video. Advertisers sign up through a form in Google's post. On Gmail, Google says advertisers who add Gmail to Demand Gen see on average a 40% increase in conversions for image creatives at the same ROI, based on its own data.
Shorts was a video-only game. Now your best static ads can run there too, with a shorter path to buy. That's cheap creative to test: take the images already winning organically or on Meta and scale the outliers.
Business Agent answers questions using what you've told Google. Same lesson as everywhere else this month: clean product data and clear answers win.
