YouTube turned Ask YouTube, its AI search tool, into a shopping tool at Made on YouTube. Search for reviews of a product and it can lay review videos out as a comparison table of features. Open a review and you can keep asking questions about the product on that page, including by voice on a TV.
The search version is still an experiment for a limited number of users in the US. The watch-page version is already big: Sundar Pichai said over 140 million users engaged with Ask YouTube on the watch page in June. YouTube's help page says eligible tagged products may appear in its answers, and that Ask YouTube conversations don't show ads in this experimental phase.
So you can't buy your way into this shortlist. You earn it with real reviews from creators your buyers trust, and clear product details those creators repeat. This is AI search, and it happens inside YouTube.
YouTube hasn't said how it picks videos or where the product details come from, so we'd focus on what you control: the reviews and the tags.
