You Need These Digital Pr Tools!
In all areas of business, you are probably conscious of how you spend your time.
As a business owner, your time is valuable, and having systems in place to be as efficient as possible is simply essential.
When undertaking tasks within your digital PR strategy, you may be aware of how time-consuming some of the tasks can be, this could include:
Finding comments & article requests
Keeping on top of trending topics
Reaching out to journalists and bloggers
Finding the email addresses of journalists
Without systems in place, some of these tasks can take up far too much time than you need to spend!
Ready to find out how we can help you achieve better results through your PR strategy?
Let us show you how… (you are going to love these tricks!)
you use Digital PR Tools!
As with all avenues of marketing, social media scheduling, analysis, automation, email marketing etc., there is an abundance of tools that can help you to manage your systems better.
And let's be honest, having a good system in place can not only save you SO much time, but it can improve your efficiency, processes within the business, and your productivity.
We use a combination of tools to help us find journalist requests and opportunities, trending topics, and the contact details for journalists.
Some of these tools that we are about to share can totally transform your digital PR strategy and increase the success of your campaigns and press releases. Get more exposure of your product or service and increase your brand awareness to increase your sales, visibility, and ultimately your revenue.
Tweetdeck
A fantastic tool to manage your Twitter accounts, this tool lets you see multiple timelines at the same time, and bonus, it's free!
Click here to access your TweetDeck (you need to be logged in to your account in your browser).
You can customise your timelines to see what you want, whether you want to see a particular account, a specific hashtag, or search term.
Check out the screenshot below to see how you can tailor your feed with hashtags and trending topics.
How can you use this to help your PR strategy?
Twitter is a GREAT source for finding PR requests from journalists all over the country (and world!). You’ll be genuinely amazed by some of the publications and journalists that reach out with requests.
We recommend following:
As you can see from the below tweets, there are some amazing opportunities out there on Twitter. These hashtags are constantly HOT, add these hashtags to your TweetDeck to keep up to date with opportunities.
Alternatively, you can save your hashtag search on Twitter!
BuzzSumo
This is definitely the best way to source new ideas for your content! Using BuzzSumo you can keep up to date with trending topics, hashtags, and conversations across all platforms and be QUICK to react.
As we mentioned in our previous blog about Newsjacking, being quick to react can be so beneficial if you are planning to jump on the bandwagon and Newsjack. Not sure what Newsjacking means? You can read more here.
We love BuzzSumo because it is completely personalised and it is a great way to find influencers to connect with too.
If you are looking for ideas and inspiration for your pitches or content, this is a great resource to use.
BuzzStream
BuzzStream is an outreach program that is GREAT for link building and quickly building qualified lists. It has some great features that can discover metrics and contact information for your prospects and allows you to send better emails at scale.
We love this tool because its systems allow you to easily track activity, conversations, and responses. (Great if you are working with a team!).
At Firebelly we LOVE a reporting tool and this one is BRILLIANT, you can easily track your performance and open/ reply rates. A great way to keep track of what works, and what doesn’t.
Gorkana
This tool is incredibly useful. Gorkana changed the way people were able to find reliable contact information for journalists and publications.
Gorkana is essentially a database FULL of journalist information, not only can you find their names and email addresses but you can also find out where they write, what day/time they prefer to receive pitches, and where else they freelance. Build up a network of media contacts
This can also provide you with valuable information about publications too!
We’d recommend using the keyword tool to get really specific with your searching if you are wanting to write about your industry niche.
It is an expensive tool, so if your program budget is tight, we’d also recommend checking out Roxhill media as a cheaper alternative.
Hunter.io
A great way to get leads and is a free way to find journalist’s contact details! When you use the free version you get up to 25 searches free a month which can be very valuable.
It has a great tool where you can type in a domain and the ‘Domain Search’ will list all of the people working in that company, you’ll get their name and email address that can be freely found on the web.
This tool is POWERFUL and there is a Google browser extension too that makes it even easier.
Check out below just how easy it is to search and find the email addresses for a company using LinkedIn as an example.
